BIGMallrat's Editorial Review
Serramonte mall in Daly City has traditionally
been regarded as a nice shopping center with a good mix of stores.
Atmosphere
The interior of the Serramonte mall is nice,
light, and bright. They recently remodeled the center court to create
a Zen comfort zone. Using Feng Shui principles, they balanced natural
light, installed a stone koi water pond, bamboo landscapes, and added
plush furniture.
Using tasteful and up-to-date colors, each wing
has its own colors that are based on a season: summer, autumn, spring,
and winter. We found the mall to be calming and pleasant; so unlike
many other shopping centers.
Serramonte mall's layout was especially pleasing.
We were able to stroll around, enjoy the mall and return to the car
before we got tired. The giant plus design really is, a plus!
Stores
With the departure of Montgomery Wards and addition
of Target, things have picked up. We didn't see any store vacancies
and were pleased with the selected of stores. Mostly middle-of-the-road
national retailers with some upscale shops.
Food
A small food court is near Crunch Gym. A good
selection of eateries, but a small seating area. However, a skylight
above is sometimes open to release food smells while bringing in
fresh air.
Parking
Thanks to a large parking lot, parking is never
difficult to find. However, don't be surprised if you have to park
some distance from an entrance.
The best place to park is the far side of Macy's.
Location
Serramonte mall is located in Daly City, off I-280
at Serramonte Blvd.
