BIGMallrat's Editorial Review
Somersville Towne Center in Antioch, previously
known as County East Mall, added Macy's on Friday, June 30, 2004.
It provided a much needed shot in the arm. The interior mall also
was remodeled.
A good alternative to the busy Sunvalley
mall in Concord, this mall offers a quieter, less-hectic shopping
experience.
Atmosphere
Thanks to the recent remodel, Somersville Towne
Center appears contemporary and up-to-date. You'll find neutral colors
throughout, including the new tile floor. The ceiling, which wasn't
updated, features mirrored tiles.
Stores
There is a pleasing selection of national retailers,
as well as a number of tchotchke shops that provide interest. Department
stores range from affordable to expensive. Yet, Macy's and Gottschalks
both stood out as fine examples of retailers.
Food
No food court here, however, a few eateries are
grouped around Mervyn's.
Parking
We found parking to
be fairly easy. The lot around Macy's was crowded, but there was
plenty of parking in front of Gottschalks and near Sears.
Location
Somersville Towne Center is located off
Hwy 4 at Somersville Road in Antioch, California.
