Carson Mall is the only enclosed
shopping center in Carson County. Although, it's a small center with
a handful of shops, it does provide area residents with a department
store and community-related activities. Not to mention, the roof
provides relief from the cold winters.
August 2, 2008 Update: Carson Mall is remodeling!
Atmosphere
The interior of the mall is rather dated and cheap
looking. It doesn't appear to have been remodeled since it originally
opened (perhaps 25 years ago?). With the opening of newer shopping
centers in the area, this could be a detriment.
Stores
You will find many one-of-a-kind local
retailers, including a medical center and card shop. In addition,
there is a
popular western store, which serves as a reminder of the northern
Nevada location. The center was fully leased, so
it must be a popular destination. However, Gottschalk's closed in
2009, leaving this center without an anchor.
Parking
Parking is a breeze; it's a small shopping center.
Location
Carson Mall is located on Hwy 395/50 (North Carson
Street) in the heart of downtown Carson City, Nevada.
