BIGMallrat's Editorial Review
The Willows
Shopping Center in Concord is a regional/neighborhood
center with a traditional mall layout. It features many power center-type
stores in a compact design that is suitable for strolling.
Atmosphere
While walking the corridors of The Willows,
I think the worse we could say is "that's all?" There is
a nice selection of stores and we wished for more. Nonetheless, we
walked down the interior mall and found it painfully narrow in some
places. Most of it was bordered by paneled walls (as opposed to store
fronts). I suppose the interior mall is really
just a shortcut these days.
However, the landscaping is truly beautiful. The
center court features a fountain and some metal art worth viewing.
Stores
You'll find many
desireable stores, like Cost Plus World Market, Old Navy, and REI.
A regional draw is
the Willows Theatre, which regularly shows plays for the art crowd.
Food
The Willows Shopping Center is known for its restaurants,
including El Torito, Benihana of Tokyo, Claim Jumper, Fuddruckers,
and Tony Roma's.
Location
The Willows Shopping Center is located in Concord
CA, east of I-680 at Willow Pass Road and Diamond Boulevard. Its
location near the giant Sunvalley mall doesn't
seem to inhibit its success.
