BIGMallrat's Editorial Review
Meadowood
Mall in Reno is easily the best shopping
center in Northern Nevada.
This enclosed shopping center was developed by
the Taubman Company, and shares many similarities to Stoneridge
Shopping Center in Pleasanton, CA. However, this center is
built for a smaller market and hence, a single story.
Atmosphere
Meadowood Mall features a white and bright atmosphere.
Its unique semi-circle design, with a straight corridor leading to Sears, feels
open and is a pleasure to stroll. One side of the mall is set on
a higher plane than the other, so there are some stairs leading to
the center court. Keep your eyes focused on the floor to avoid
unexpected
falls. Carefully placed ramps do make it wheelchair and scooter-friendly.
Nevertheless, the single-story design keeps the center from feeling
overwhelming.
Stores
We found a pleasing selection of stores, including
many high-end ones. Approximately 80 stores are unique to the Reno area. In
addition to Sears, JC Penney, and a large Copeland's Sports Superstore,
there are two Macy's (women's on the north side and
men's/home on the east side).
Food
A large food court, called the "Palms," can be
found near Sears. Although additional sit-down restaurants are
grouped around the entrances.
Parking
With a large lot surrounding the shopping center,
parking is fairly easy. Even on the busiest of days, a spot
will be found without much delay.
Location
Meadowood Mall is located in Reno, Nevada, at
the intersection of US-395, McCarran Boulevard and South Virginia
Street.
