BIGMallrat's Editorial Review
The Westfield Galleria at Roseville
is the Sacramento area's first new mall in over twenty years, and
boy, were we surprised! Coming from the Bay Area, the California's
Central Valley has always been a step-down, of sorts, in the retail
caliber department. However, with the opening of the Galleria, the
playing field changed.
Atmosphere
We did so many "oohs" and "ahs," it
was like the Fourth of July. Beautiful graphics are painted on the
ceilings and walls, plus gorgeous floors, all designed to impress.
Stores
The Roseville Galleria features
top-notch stores, many new to the Sacramento region. By far, the
best part
was the Promenade, which is the portion of the mall that is outside.
It has high-quality restaurants and pleasant surroundings, including
a cozy and warm fireplace, and cool and refreshing water fountains.
This portion of the mall isn't just for shopping, but also a place
where people can come together and socialize the good old fashioned
way.
Food
You'll find a giant food court located in the middle of the Upper
Level, across from JC Penney. It offers your typical mall fare with
some exotics. Outside, in the Promenade, you'll find additional sit-down
restaurants, like Pluto's and Il Fornaio
Parking
Although the parking lot is huge and can accommodate
numerous cars, the real difficulty lies in getting out of the parking
lot. The stop signs all favor cars coming in, not out. It's a pain.
But, at least you can get decent parking to cheer you up when you
come in with money to spend.
Location
Roseville Galleria is located in
Roseville, California. From I-80, take the Hwy 65 exit. From Hwy
65, take the Galleria Boulevard/Stanford Ranch Road exit.
In summary
We recommend a visit to the Roseville Galleria
mall, no matter where you live. We hope to have something like it
here in the Bay Area soon.
As an added bonus, this mall features the latest
shopping hours on Sundays in Sacramento - until 7 PM.
