BIGMallrat's Editorial Review
With nearly 1.4 million square feet of leasable space,
Eastridge Mall in San Jose is one of the largest malls in the San
Francisco Bay Area.
A recent remodeling brought in an AMC Theater and outdoor
streetscape, with tenants such as Barnes & Noble and Bed Bath &
Beyond. Other new stores continue to open inside, as well. The general
consensus is that the renovation is a success.
Atmosphere
Once inside, you'll find many stores and an overall
pleasant design. The mall's feel is spacious and airy. Plush carpet
is easy on your feet on the second level. The center court features
a unique panel of lights along the ceiling, modern fountains on the
floor, and an industrial-style elevator serving both levels.
Food
A large food court can be found on the Upper Level
next to Sears. It's directly across from the cinema, which makes
getting a snack before or after a movie very convenient.
Parking
Depending on the location, parking ranges from
easy to difficult. Near Sears, parking is a little easier. Near
JC Penney and the new
cinema, parking is a bear. However, the lot is large and you are
always able to find a spot.
Location
Eastridge Mall is located in San Jose CA, in between
Tully Road, East Capitol Expressway, and Quimby Road. From Hwy 101,
exit east on Tully Road.
Visitor Reviews
"I've lived in the area
for 16 years, and it is nice to see that they're finally
updated the mall. I would like to see The Gap, Limited Too,
and even an Old Navy. I have a daughter
and these are the stores I typically shop at, since I
have to shop for slim pants, and I still need to travel
to Oakridge or Valley Fair to shop for her. On
occasion Penney's will have what I need. Macy's is still
very dumpy and doesn't have a good kids
selection at all! Let's hope the local people will keep
the mall looking nice, and not trash the bathrooms and
the carpet through out the mall, and take pride in
having an updated mall." - Lori 12/22/05
