BIGMallrat's Editorial Review
Princeton Plaza Mall in San Jose is a little gem
in the Almaden Valley. Although community centers don't usually appear
on this Website, this mall does have the classic mall design, worthy
of recognition.
Occupancy
The entire shopping center is mostly full. Very
few vacancies. A new store was moving in as we visited.
Atmosphere
Most people would agree this shopping center does
appear dated. But, I feel it gives it charm. The interior is reminiscent
of the glory days of open air malls in the Fifties and Sixties. My
personal favorite is the fascinating light bulbs that surround the
interior. Not a single burned out bulb, I tell ya!
Outside, the mall appears to have been remodeled
at some point, probably in the Eighties. Nonetheless, I find its
historical interest to be outstanding.
Stores
The biggest anchor is Mervyns. You can also find
national retailers like Walgreens, Party America, and Michaels. Finally,
many unique and independent community shops are here, including a
Persian supermarket.
Parking
You will find parking to be very easy.
Location
Princeton Plaza Mall is located in San Jose CA,
in between Meridian Avenue, Kooser Road, and Blossom Hill Road.
Community activities
Princeton Plaza Mall hosts the San Jose Blossom
Hill Farmers' Market on Sundays between 10 AM and 2 PM, and the Antiques,
Collectibles, Jewelry, Arts and Crafts Show every 2nd
Saturday of each month between 9:00 AM and 4:00 PM.
