 Bayfair Center, previously known as Bayfair Mall
in San Leandro, is currently undergoing renovation. First, they are
created a central corridor, from Target to the east side. One of
the north entrances has been removed and it's beginning to look like
a real mall now. However, the owner is still keeping the renovation
plan a secret, so we have no idea what to expect.
Occupancy
Of course, there are many vacancies, but that
is to be expected in this phase of the construction. The second level
is still a ghost town and nothing has been done to it.
Stores
Since the renovation, many big-box style retailers
have joined the mix, including Kohl's, Bed Bath & Beyond, and
Old Navy. Staples is opening soon.
Macy's could use a remodel, yet the Target is the best in the area.
Outside the mall is the popular Century Theatres
16 Bayfair, PetSmart and 24 Hour Fitness.
Food
A food court is provided on the first level between
Macy's and Target. However, it remains mostly empty.
Location
Bayfair Center is located in San Leandro, CA.
It has no freeway visibility and may seem difficult to get to; much
to its detriment. However, take I-580 and exit west on Fairmont or
I-238 and exit north on Hesperian.
